1. YOU DIDN’T GO INTO PT TO BE A SALES PERSON…
Let’s cut to the chase, if you wanted to go into a career that required sales and lead generation you would have applied for a sales role and there is your first obstacle.
You are innately doing a necessary task in your job that you are not wired for.
So, WHAT DO YOU DOwhen you enter an industry that full fills you passion only to discover you have to feel comfortable about lead generation and selling? Eek…
2. PT’S AND SALES PEOPLE HAVE TWO COMPLETELY DIFFERENT PROFILES.
- Sales people go into their roles knowing they have to generate leads and sales. They generally look at a “no” is just one step closer to getting a “yes” and tend to be a bit tougher on the outside.
- PTs go into their roles because they want to help people and make them feel better. They are passionate about health and fitness and want to impart their knowledge and transform lives.
The fear of selling anything can be paralysing. Asking for names and numbers from a complete stranger can be unnerving and confronting.
